Mammograms for Women on the Move: Harper Hosts Fox Chase Mobile Mammography Van in Blue Bell
HARRISBURG – Busy women running between work, home and school activities know they should make time for an annual mammogram, but they often put themselves last when juggling their schedules. That’s why Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery) is teaming with Fox Chase Cancer Center to host its mobile mammography van on Friday, Oct. 5, at her district office in Blue Bell.

“The mobile mammography van offers quick and convenient mammograms to ensure even the busiest women can find the time for this important test,” Harper said. “Most exams take no longer than 10 minutes, and those 10 minutes really could mean the difference between life and death because early detection is vital to the successful treatment of this awful disease.”

The van will be parked at Harper’s office, located at 1098 Skippack Pike in Blue Bell, with appointments starting at 9 a.m. Appointments are required and space is limited. Call Deb Resnick with Fox Chase at (215) 214-1682 to confidentially schedule an appointment.

To qualify, women who would like to participate must meet the following requirements:
  • Be age 40 or older.
  • Have not had a mammogram in the last year
  • Provide the name and address of at least one doctor who has your medical records and have a note from that doctor.
  • May not have breastfed in the last nine months.
  • Have not had a breast cancer diagnosis within the last three years and is not being treated for breast cancer.
  • May not have a new breast-related health problem.
