On a Mission: Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association Featured on Harper’s August Legislative Report Program
HARRISBURG – An organization dedicated to protecting and preserving one of the region’s most valuable environmental assets is featured on the August edition of Legislative Report with Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery).

The Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA) was founded more than 60 years ago to protect the quality and beauty of the Wissahickon Creek. Harper’s guest on the program is Gail Farmer, WVWA executive director.

The two discuss the association’s work to preserve 1,300 acres of open space, 13 nature preserves and 24 miles of public trails. They also discuss storm water management and other water quality issues that impact the creek, as well as steps residents can take to help the creek.

The 30-minute program is available for viewing at Comcast Cable On Demand and online at YouTube.com/RepHarper or via KateHarper.net.

The program is also provided to Brittany Pointe Estates, Foulkeways at Gwynedd, Normandy Farms Estates and Dock Woods for airing within their communities.
