Services for Veterans Featured on Harper’s Legislative Report
HARRISBURG – Working to ensure veterans are familiar with the many education, employment and government services available to them, the July edition of Legislative Report with Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery) features highlights from a recent Veterans Expo at Montgomery County Community College (MCCC).

The program includes interviews with several vendors on hand at the event, including Adam Oehrle, veteran student and treasurer of The Veterans Club at MCCC; Dr. Karen Hanson of Salus University, who shares information about the university’s veterans readiness initiative; John Vagner of Canine Partners for Life and his service dog, Sheba; Ryan Fox of Montgomery County Veterans Affairs; Jennifer Orloski of First Student; and Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg discusses her department’s program for registering veterans’ discharge papers and issuing veterans photo ID discount cards, which allows them to receive discounts for goods and services from participating merchants.

The program concludes with remarks offered at the expo by Mike Brown of MCCC’s Veterans Resource Center.
