How and When Pennsylvanians Can Get REAL ID Featured on Harper’s March Legislative Report Television Program
HARRISBURG – What is a REAL ID and why do I need a REAL ID license to fly? Where can I get one? Those questions and more are discussed on the March edition of Legislative Report with Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery).

During the 30-minute program, Harper is joined by Kurt Myers, deputy secretary of Driver and Vehicle Services with PennDOT, to discuss the origins of the federal REAL ID Act and the agency’s progress in implementing REAL ID-compliant driver licenses and non-driver IDs.

Once available in 2019, Pennsylvanians will have the option to choose a REAL ID or a standard license/identification card. Those who choose the standard option will need to have another form of REAL ID-compliant identification, such as a passport or passport card, to board domestic flights or access certain federal facilities such as military bases.
