Services for Veterans Featured on Harper’s Legislative Report
HARRISBURG – Working to ensure veterans are familiar with the many education, employment and government services available to them, the December edition of Legislative Report with Rep. Kate Harper (R-Montgomery) features highlights from a recent Veterans Expo at Montgomery County Community College (MCCC).

The program features information about several of the vendors on hand at the event, including PA Hero Walk, Meghan’s Foundation, Heroes in the Arts, Veterans Upward Bound, Canine Partners for Life, Transnet, and the Montgomery County Veterans Affairs Department. Montgomery County Recorder of Deeds Jeanne Sorg discusses her department’s program for registering veterans’ discharge papers and issuing veterans photo ID discount cards, which allows them to receive discounts for goods and services from participating merchants.

The program also includes highlights of remarks offered at the expo by Mike Brown of MCCC’s veterans resource center, as well as the lawmakers co-hosting the event, including Harper, Congressman Pat Meehan and state Reps. Todd Stephens and Tom Murt.
